Berryz Koubou’s 17th Single

Berryz Koubou Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance

Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance Full Radio Preview

Hello! ºC-ute has the full radio preview of Berryz Koubou’s 17th single! It’s a fast song with a lot of “Monkey danceeee MONKEY DANCEEEEE” from what I hear. While the song is catchy, it does remind me of Dschinghis Khan. Both singles have a lot of repetition. I mean, how many times can you hear “Jin Jin Jingisu Kan! Hey brother, ho brother, nice brother go brother!”s can you hear before you kind of just want them to start saying something else? If anyone wants to count how many Jingisu Kans are in that single, I’ll leave the link to the lyrics at the bottom of the post.

Another similarity between the two singles are the huge amounts of Risako solo lines. Now, all of this complaining about Risako is getting a little old, but I must say it! SHE GETS TOO MANY LINES. I count Risako’s voice at least five times in the preview above, but I must also point out that her line is usually followed by a solo line from Miyabi, then Momoko. But at least Miyabi and Momoko have voices that will not kill the live version of this song. Oh god, the horror of Risako singing this song live. *shudders*

I’ll do a full review of their song when I can watch the PV. I hope the PV will be outdoors, since they’re wearing street clothes in the picture shown above.

ºC-ute’s Sixth Single

ºC-ute’s sixth major (tenth total) single will be released on July 30th, 2008.

There is some speculation on whether this song will be following the S-exy route, or the C-ute route. Personally, I’d like a mature song over a cute one, but they’re all pretty great songs. Some people believe that since Tokaikko Junjou was followed by LALALA Shiawase no Uta, Namida no Iro will be followed by a cute song, as well. Will C-ute break this pattern and go for a mature song? We’ll be able to know more about this single once it’s titled, hopefully.
