Edo no Temari Uta II is Better Than the Title

When the title of this single was announced, I had my doubts because temari translates to “handball”. I feared that this single would be another cute one like LALALA or Sakura Chirari. After hearing the preview, I still had my doubts about whether or not I liked this single. Now that the PV is out, I have come to a conclusion. I fucking love this song and PV.

Yuke Yuke Mediocre Dance Review Edit

So, I reviewed Berryz Koubou’s new single too early, and now I want to add on a score for their B-side, which I recently downloaded.

B-side – Maji Good Chance Summer
I love this B-side a lot more than its A-side. It begins with Risako saying something. She says something like “Moshi moshi, uh, Okaa-san? Ano ne?” so I assume she’s calling her mom to ask her something. Then the song starts. It’s very upbeat and happy. I like it and it’s a lot more catchy and easy on the ears than Yuke Yuke. There’s a lot of Risako, Miyabi and Momoko, but that’s expected. Midway through the song, Risako talks to her mom again. Judging from the tone of her voice, she’s shocked about something. Overall, it’s a catchy song and will raise the single’s rating quite a bit.
9/10

With a new addition, let’s reevaluate the single!
Song: 6/10
PV: 5/10
Outfits: 5/10
Dance: 6/10
B-side: 9/10

Previous overall: 5.5/10
Current Overall: 6.2/10
So, the B-side raised this single’s rating up by 0.7!

Yuke Yuke Monkey Fail…I mean, Dance – Berryz Koubou

I don’t like this single. I want this single to go die in a fire. Don’t get me wrong, parts of it are okay, I guess, but the whole package? Ugh.
Well, time to review the positive and not-so-positive parts of this single.

love the world – Perfume

My first thoughts on loading up the PV were kind of weird. Here is an idea of what I thought as I watched the PV:
Ooh, so the PV is designed pretty much like the cover, huh. Same font, same outfits…
Interesting black and white theme here
Weird, they’re sitting down? Uh, twisting foot, then crawling across leg? Wtf, weird dance, I guess.
Hey, Kashiyuka has different shoes than them. I wonder if it’s a sign. Eh, moving on…
Ah, look, it’s Nocchi! Heh, she looks kind of like a penguin. Oh, cool, there’s a row of Nocchis. Interesting, they don’t all look the same, so it’s not like a mirror, huh.
Whoa, A~Chan crumpling herself up into a ball of paper? Interesting, I guess they’re going making it recursive (thanks for adding to my vocabulary, Kirarin_Snow! :D). Ooh, look it’s Kashiyuka! Whoa, she crumpled A~Chan up into a ball and threw her away! That’s pretty mean, Kashi.Wait, wait, OH MY GOD SHE’S IN A RUBIK’S CUBE. KASHIYUKA<3
Alright, we saw all three girls…back to Nocchi…? Yep, showing another shot of the three girls, same order…
Ooh, catchy chorus! If my horrible Japanese does not fail me this time, I THINK they’re saying not to give up. Or something. Whatever, cool dance.
Huh, I wonder if Kashi and Nocchi are wearing the same thing. Oh, different shoes and shorts, actually. The white background makes it difficult to see Kashi’s feet, though.
Cute dance! I wish they would release a dance shot, but this isn’t H!P.
Interesting, more Rubik’s Cubes. Whoa, cube in cube in cube. Ooh, more Kashiyuka! This song is pretty catchy.
Hm, now they’re doing jumps in slow motion…Kashi’s long hair makes it difficult to see her face when she’s jumping, actually.
Huh, now they’re sitting on each other’s shoulders? More confusing shots! Hm, A~Chan solo while they make more confusing recursive shots. Oh, wow, Kashi solo! She gets almost chorus, actually. I wonder if there’s a Nocchi solo next…NO, NO NOCCHI SOLO THIS TIME. WHERE IS THE NOCCHI SOLO? Okay, now there are more cute Perfume girl shots, jumping around and all…end!

So those were my initial thoughts, basically. Now that I’ve had time to think about it, I think, like many people, that Kashi is going to be the main girl of Perfume pretty soon. She got a pretty long solo at the end (longer than A~Chan’s) and Nocchi didn’t even get a solo. Is this a representation of how upcoming singles will be?
Now that Perfume is getting more and more popular, I don’t think they’re going to do any more Computer-ey songs. I liked Electro World and Computer City, but they’re probably going to be trying to reach out to a larger audience now, so their songs have to be more, uh, mainstream?
Also, I think I’ve been noticing a trend with my favorites. In C-ute and Buono!, I’m a total Airi-freak. Is it because Airi is the center of attention? Is the UFA’s evil plot to have Airi take over H!P working? Or do I like Airi because Airi is Airi? (Whoa, three Airis in one sentence!) And in Perfume, Kashiyuka has been my favorite for a while, and she’s starting to get a bit more attention now. Do I always favor the popular girls?!

One Love – ARASHI Review!

Okay, I lied! I decided to do a review of Arashi’s latest single, One Love even though I should study for finals. :P
I think the whole “blog about C-ute” thing is kind of falling apart, ’cause I want to blog about all units! So, ignore the fact that the blog is named ºAbsol-ute ºC-ute, I WANT TO COVER EVERYTHING, INCLUDING JOHNNY’S.
But anyways, let’s begin reviewing some ARASHI!

PV
Eh. I didn’t like the weird animation thing where they looked all weird. The first time I saw them I was all, WHAT THE HELL TOO MUCH MAKE UP, until my brother pointed out that they were just edited. I like the PV, I guess, but it’s not exactly my favorite. If they weren’t edited to look like they were drawn instead of real people, I think I’d have liked it a little better. The PV is a little simple, but I guess they’re supposed to be at a wedding? Eh.
6/10 :(

Outfits
I couldn’t find a picture of their outfits. If anyone has one, send me it, please! :)
These outfits kind of made me go WHAT THE HELL, as well. NINO WAS WEARING SHORTS. WHY? Why would Nino wear shorts… ;_;
I do like Nino’s tie, though, it’s pretty cool.
I haven’t mentioned this before, but Matsumoto Jun is my favorite male idol/singer EVER, because he was in the first drama I ever saw, Gokusen. And that was before I got into jpop, so I actually looked him up and was all “omghawttt” before knowing he was in ARASHI. :P But, yeah, I don’t really like Matsumoto’s outfit. The jacket being buttoned only once made it look a little strange in my opinion.
No real complaints about the other outfits, but I think Sakurai had the best outfit.
5.5/10 DDD:

Song
Alright, the song saved this. I love this song. Catchy, calm, great chorus. I love this song A LOT and it’s just great. The only problem I guess I have is that it sounded a tiny bit boring in the beginning, and as Fly To High said in their review, the chorus is made of awesome. I also agree that this song is not as catchy as Love So Sweet (great song), but better than WISH.
10/10! :D

Overall: 7.2 =/
As you can see, I am in love with the song, but not with the outfits or PV. So, I guess I’ll be listening to the mp3 for a while, but not watching the PV that often.
