A Late Namida no Iro Review!

Note: For some reason, I cant embed videos, wth.

Namida no Iro has been out for a while, and its got the highest first week sales of any C-ute song, according to ThePPN. This song has a more latin, mature style, but I like it!

Now, lets break their song down:

The Outfits

Many people expressed shock over the shorts some of the C-ute members were wearing for this single. I think that while theyre pretty short, theyve worn more revealing clothing before. I think the outfits are pretty nice. However, they kind of lack consistency. Mai has a cute dress on, but it still doesnt match the others, who are wearing jeans or shorts. Saki and Erikas outfits dont really fit either, since everyone is showing skin and they’re wearing jeans, scarves and headgear. Overall, I like the outfits for this release, though.
8/10!

The Dance

THIS DANCE IS GREAT. I love that kick move they do at the beginning! The whole dance is very well choreographed and synchronized. I want to point out that no one has a crazy Koharu-on-crack smile, and all have very serious expressions that suit the PV. I think their, uhm, dance positions(?) have been improving since Tokaikko Junjou and Meguru Koi no Kisetsu. In Tokaikko Junjou, one member would always be left dancing all the way in the back (usually Chisato D:<). Then in Meguru Koi no Kisetsu, we have all of the girls bowing down to Airi as she sings her solo line. While I personally believe everyone should bow down to the Great Airi, they really shouldn’t incorporate Airi worship into their dance.

Uh, but back to Namida no Iro. Everyone is visible here, and the positioning has improved greatly. The dance is very mature and the girls pulled it off beautifully.
9.5/10!

The PV

The PV, to me, was so-so. I didnt quite like the solo shots of them standing between the two fuzzy (WTF, FUZZY) walls that much, but I think those kind of shots are better than face-only shots. Also, Airi can pull off some crazy expressions during her solo shots! Another problem I had with the PV was those shots of Erika and Maimi lying on the ground, or something. They seemed out of place with the PV, but the others should have gotten those shots as well. Hopefully, for their next release, they’ll be able to do an outdoor PV like Tokaikko Junjou.
7/10!

The Song
Maimi and Airi get all of the solo lines in this song, not counting Sakis Wahhh noise. Most C-ute fans want their personal favorite to get more solo lines, but Airi is my favorite and she actually gets too many lines! My own reason for wishing the line distribution would be more even is simple: Concerts! If Airi and Maimi keep singing too much, theyre going to be tired out and sound a little worse. All the other members will be in good shape, but Maimi will get that weird deep voice, and Airi will start sounding like the other girls. That’s right, I’m implying that Airi’s normal voice is so nice that when she gets tired, her voice goes down to the level of the other girls.
At any rate, there is no denying that Airi and Maimi do a great job of singing in this song. Wotachatters may have noticed my Airi-obsession, but seriously, Airi makes this song great with her falsetto at the end of this song. She even said in an interview that she put a lot of emotion into that line!
10/10!

So, I give this single an 8.6/10 (Average)! I liked the song very much, but other elements of the single made me lower their score. Lets hope for a 10/10 on their next release, shall we?
