Yuke Yuke Mediocre Dance Review Edit

So, I reviewed Berryz Koubou’s new single too early, and now I want to add on a score for their B-side, which I recently downloaded.

B-side – Maji Good Chance Summer
I love this B-side a lot more than its A-side. It begins with Risako saying something. She says something like “Moshi moshi, uh, Okaa-san? Ano ne?” so I assume she’s calling her mom to ask her something. Then the song starts. It’s very upbeat and happy. I like it and it’s a lot more catchy and easy on the ears than Yuke Yuke. There’s a lot of Risako, Miyabi and Momoko, but that’s expected. Midway through the song, Risako talks to her mom again. Judging from the tone of her voice, she’s shocked about something. Overall, it’s a catchy song and will raise the single’s rating quite a bit.
9/10

With a new addition, let’s reevaluate the single!
Song: 6/10
PV: 5/10
Outfits: 5/10
Dance: 6/10
B-side: 9/10

Previous overall: 5.5/10
Current Overall: 6.2/10
So, the B-side raised this single’s rating up by 0.7!

Yuke Yuke Monkey Fail…I mean, Dance – Berryz Koubou

I don’t like this single. I want this single to go die in a fire. Don’t get me wrong, parts of it are okay, I guess, but the whole package? Ugh.
Well, time to review the positive and not-so-positive parts of this single.

updateupdateupdate

Sorry for the lack of posting recently, finals and all that stuff, you know? School will end on Thursday so I’ll have a longer post in a few days!

Uh, random thought I had: Berryz Koubou and Perfume are releasing their new singles (Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance and love the world, respectively) on the same date. I wonder if this will affect their sales. I think everyone has been anticipating this single, since it should be fairly popular, and Berryz Koubou’s new single might be overlooked in all the excitement! That kind of worries me.

YAY BUONO! FOURTH SINGLE

Most of you guys have probably heard, but Buono! will be releasing a new single on August 20th, 2008! The new single will be the fourth ending of the anime Shugo Chara!, for which they’ve sang all the openings and endings for. The title of the single is Gachinko de Ikou!.

I’m hoping their new song will sound a little more like Janakya Mottainai. Of their singles, A and B sides, Janakya Mottainai is the only single not related to the anime. I wonder if this is connected to the fact that it’s one of their best songs (in my opinion). I’m also wondering about the new outfits. They’ve done two school girl style outfits, and I’m hoping the next one will have no references to school, because the whole punk + tie thing is kind of old.

Suzuki Airi is going to be pretty busy with C-ute and Buono! for the next few months. ºC-ute’s sixth single, as I mentioned before, will be released July 30th, 2008. That’s about a month before our Buono! release. I hope she doesn’t overwork herself with all these releases, because, of course, Airi rules.
Oh yeah, Berryz Koubou will be releasing Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance on July 09th, 2008 (forgot to mention that in the earlier post >_<), so they’ll also be working hard! Go go Buono! girls!

Another thing I’m extremely worried about is whether or not this is going to be the last Buono! single. The anime, Shugo Chara!, is expected to have 51 episodes. Episodes 1-13 had Kokoro no Tamago and Honto no Jibun as their op/ed. Then they switched to Renai Rider for the 13-26 for the ending song, and that was the end of the first season. Their latest single, Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! (and their B-side, Minna Daisuki) were again used for the ed/op of episodes 27-40(ish), respectively. Their next single will be used for the last half season as the ending, and then Shugo Chara! won’t need any new songs, unless they plan on continuing the anime. If they are, great, ’cause I LOVE THAT ANIME. But, yeah, will Buono! be getting a fifth single? Is this the last one? I really hope the girls can continue singing past the anime, because they make great music and sell very well. For now, let’s not worry about all that stuff I’ve been speculating on and await their new single!

Berryz Koubou’s 17th Single

Berryz Koubou Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance

Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance Full Radio Preview

Hello! ºC-ute has the full radio preview of Berryz Koubou’s 17th single! It’s a fast song with a lot of “Monkey danceeee MONKEY DANCEEEEE” from what I hear. While the song is catchy, it does remind me of Dschinghis Khan. Both singles have a lot of repetition. I mean, how many times can you hear “Jin Jin Jingisu Kan! Hey brother, ho brother, nice brother go brother!”s can you hear before you kind of just want them to start saying something else? If anyone wants to count how many Jingisu Kans are in that single, I’ll leave the link to the lyrics at the bottom of the post.

Another similarity between the two singles are the huge amounts of Risako solo lines. Now, all of this complaining about Risako is getting a little old, but I must say it! SHE GETS TOO MANY LINES. I count Risako’s voice at least five times in the preview above, but I must also point out that her line is usually followed by a solo line from Miyabi, then Momoko. But at least Miyabi and Momoko have voices that will not kill the live version of this song. Oh god, the horror of Risako singing this song live. *shudders*

I’ll do a full review of their song when I can watch the PV. I hope the PV will be outdoors, since they’re wearing street clothes in the picture shown above.
