Misa over at Go go! Cutie Party has a new, more serious survey for us! She wants to know how we feel about blogs and people who dislike certain idols, and whether or not some circumstances make it okay.
1. Do you think it is disrespectful to post about how bad a member is, be it an opinion or meant simply as a joke?
I don’t think it’s disrespectful if you’re just joking around, and it depends if you’re serious. If you write a well thought post about why you don’t like a member, I think it’s not as disrespectful as just saying something like “I think this member should die, she is horrible.”
2. Does it matter if you like the idol or not? Meaning, would you care about someone writing a joke hate post if you knew the writer liked the idol. Would you write a joke hate post if you liked the idol?
If I liked the idol, I probably wouldn’t joke about hating them (there would be a lot of fangirling, actually) or anything like that. I think it’s less offensive if the writer likes the idol and is just joking, though.
3. Would you continue to write these kind of posts about an idol if you knew the idol was reading your blog?
I haven’t really disrespected any idol on my blog (I think), but if an idol was reading my blog and I respected that idol, I don’t think I would make fun of them unless I could be sure that the idol knew I was joking. And, if, for example, Suzuki Airi found my worship blog for her, I would probably tone down the rabid fangirling just because I don’t want her to think I’m a psycho. Basically, I wouldn’t want to say something on my blog that would make me sound crazy (be it positive or negative).
I don’t think my answers were very clear, but I hope it helped, Misa!
